PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily create a recognition dictionary storing feature amount data of plural reference images of a commodity each having different resolution.SOLUTION: The recognition dictionary creation device measures the distance from an imaging unit to a commodity taken by the imaging unit. The recognition dictionary creation device generates a commodity image when the imaging unit is separated away from the commodity up to a predetermined registered distance longer than the measurement distance on the basis of the image of the commodity taken by the imaging unit. The recognition dictionary creation device extracts appearance feature of the commodity from the generated commodity image. The recognition dictionary creation device registers the extracted appearance feature in the recognition dictionary as feature amount data at the registered distance of the taken image of the commodity while associating the same with the registered distance data. |
