<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To promote expansion of a flame and to improve spark consumption resistance in an ignition plug.SOLUTION: The ignition plug comprises: a center electrode; a cylindrical insulator holding the center electrode while exposing a tip of the center electrode; and a ground electrode of which one end is joined to a main body fitting and the other end is opened, the ground electrode including a bent part formed between the one end and the other end and a counterpart end face opposing a tip surface of the tip. After a voltage for trigger discharge is applied, a plurality of peak voltages can be applied to the center electrode and the tip surface and the counterpart end face are projected on a surface vertical to an axial line direction of the center electrode, the projection of the center of the tip surface and the projection of the counterpart end face are overlapped. The projection of a remote-side edge farther from the bent portion, in the edge of the counterpart end face, is positioned within the projection of the tip surface.</p> |
