Presented is the operation of two mobile devices communicating with each other using a communication enabling application. Embodiments perform a handshake between third-party applications and enabling applications. An example authentication intermediary of a communication enabling application and a method for authenticating a third-party application for enabling access to messaging functionalities is presented. An exemplary communication facility coupled with a third-party application and a method for enabling engagement between a first application on a device and a set of contacts associated with a second application on the device is next presented. Next is an example messaging functionality distributor and a method for generating revenue by growing sales of third-party applications. Finally, there is a description of an example computer system upon which the example authentication intermediary, the example platform communicator, the example messaging functionality distributor and the example methods operate. |
