PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the time spent at retry time of authentication using composite biological information.SOLUTION: An authentication system 1 checks a plurality of pieces of biological information acquired from a plurality of portions of a user against preregistered biological information. If, as a result of the check, part of the plurality of pieces of biological information acquired from the user does not resemble the preregistered biological information, the authentication system 1 executes the following process. Specifically, the authentication system 1 extracts, from the plurality of pieces of biological information reacquired from the user, biological information acquired from the same portion as was the biological information which did not resemble the preregistered biological information. Then, the authentication system 1 rechecks the extracted biological information against the preregistered biological information, and executes authentication of the user on the basis of the result of the check and the result of the recheck. |
