PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an antibacterial composition which has excellent safety and shows consideration for the environment, and can exhibit excellent antibacterial performance, and a method for producing the same.SOLUTION: Disclosed are an antibacterial composition and a method for producing the same. The antibacterial composition according to the present invention comprises as an active ingredient a biopolymer derived from Eucommia ulmoides. Such a biopolymer derived from E. ulmoides can be obtained by, for example, biologically decomposing E. ulmoides to give a decomposition product of E. ulmoides and then washing the decomposition product of E. ulmoides. |
