Disclosed are a packet processing method and an LSR. The method comprises: an Ingress LSR of a first MPLS tunnel receiving an IGP-based first notification packet generated by a first Egress LSR of the first MPLS tunnel, the first notification packet comprising an ELC flag, and the ELC flag being used for indicating that the first Egress LSR has an ELC; after the Ingress LSR obtains, by means of the first notification packet, that the first Egress LSR has the ELC, inserting a label into a first packet entering the first MPLS tunnel to generate a second packet, the label forming an MPLS label stack, the MPLS label stack comprising a first EL, a first ELI and a first TL from bottom to top; and sending the second packet to the first Egress LSR along the first MPLS tunnel. By using the technical solutions of the present invention, a Transit LSR of the first MPLS tunnel can perform loading forwarding on the second packet according to the first EL, thereby helping to implement an EL technology in an SR network. |
