<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique capable of simplifying the configuration of a device which responds instead of a network device operated in a power saving mode. <P>SOLUTION: A power management part 14 supplies power only to a front end part 62 in the power saving mode. In the case of receiving a page request 31 from a PC 3, the front end part 62 prepares content data 51 on the basis of page specifying data included in the page request 31. The page specifying data is registered in transfer history data, and the content data 51 is transmitted to the PC 3. Proxy response data 50 including the content data 51 and the page specifying data is transmitted to a proxy server 2.
