PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform gradation processing with more stable high quality than ever before, without degradation in image quality, when screen processing is performed. SOLUTION: The image forming device 1 includes: a light scanning part 12; a gradation data generation part 111 generating gradation data based on image data; a halftone processing part 112 creating drive pulse width information indicating a pulse width corresponding to the gradation data; a drive control signal generation part 113 changing a pulse width to be a value out of the predetermined range when the pulse width corresponding to the drive pulse width information is a value within the predetermined range, maintaining the pulse width when the pulse width corresponding to the drive pulse width information is the value out of the predetermined range, and generating a drive control signal by using the pulse width which has been changed or maintained; and a drive control part 121 driving the light scanning part 12 by using the drive control signal.
