A portable device for treating hypothermia includes a pad unit, a body temperature sensor, and a control system. The pad unit includes a plurality of cooling modules, each of which cools a part of the human body and includes a thermoelectric element. The body temperature sensor comes in contact with the human body to measure body temperature. The control system maintains hypothermia state by controlling electric current provided to each thermoelectric element based on the temperature measured by the body temperature sensor.
