A hand-operated semi-automatic lifting twist-lock for engaging with ISO corner fittings comprises a twist-lock body 1 having a cylindrical portion protruding therefrom, a face and a circumferential recess (5, figure 2) formed in the face, a collar 3 configured to rotate about the cylindrical portion and containing a symmetrical segment 4 configured to rotate within the circumferential recess and a retaining head 6, wherein movement of the symmetrical segment is restricted by end faces of the circumferential recess, a free-running shaft 7 within the body and rigidly attached to the retaining head and a thrust ring 12, a co-axial handle 8, a second circumferential recess 15, a stop segment 10 fitted to the handle or the body and a pre-loaded spring 16 between the handle and the body configured to hold the retaining head in a fixed position relative to the body. The twist-lock may be left or right-handed and may be used to lift containers fitted with bottom ISO corner fittings. |
