FIELD: chemistry.SUBSTANCE: method of modifying a carbon hemosorbent includes impregnating granules with an amino acid solution, filtering, drying, holding in an inert medium and drying the obtained product. The amino acid used is arginine in the form of an aqueous solution with concentration of 10-15%. Impregnation, filtration and drying of the granules are carried out twice. Impregnation is carried out with ratio of hemosorbent to arginine solution of 1:2-5.
