<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a negative electrode plate for lead-acid storage battery with improved lifetime performance, more than those of conventional types. <P>SOLUTION: The negative electrode plate for lead-acid storage battery contains a block lead which is relatively hard to expand or contract in a spongy lead which is relatively easily expanded or contracted in the negative electrode plate, and a minimum value of cross-sectional length of the block lead is 20 μm or more and 500 μm or less. In particular, it is preferable that the cross-section area of the block lead portion be 2% or more and 10% or less in the total area of the cross-section of the negative electrode plate for lead-acid storage battery. In the device, even if the conductive network in the negative electrode plate is partially cut by the expansion and contraction of the spongy lead, the current path in the whole active material of the negative electrode plate is fully secured and the lifetime of the lead-acid storage battery can be improved more than those of conventional types. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
