PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a container for protecting a refill tray in which a refill tray is restricted to have a pressing side on a side not formed with a finger inserting portion, the refill tray always comes off a storage portion from a side formed with the finger inserting portion, and the stored refill tray is accurately and readily removed. SOLUTION: The container 1 for protecting a refill tray has a top surface 12, a peripheral wall 13 substantially vertically suspended from the peripheral edge of the top surface 12, and a flange portion 14 formed outward from the lower end of the peripheral wall 13, and the container is fitted to a bottomed, dish-shaped cosmetic refill tray 11 from above and stores the refill tray 11. In the container 1, the upper end of the side wall 13 of the stored refill tray 11 and projections of the container make contact with each other to form a space between the top surface 12 and the refill tray 11, a bottom of the refill tray 11 which is positioned on a peripheral wall side opposite to the finger inserting portion, is pressed toward the space, and part of the refill tray which is positioned on a side having the finger inserting portion, disengages from the protective container with the two opposite projections as a fulcrum.
