A spacer bar for use in a triple glazed insulated glazing unit (IGU) has an external wall formed from an elongate strip 430, with multiple side wall strips (424, 426, 444, 446) positioned perpendicular to the wall. The side walls are spaced apart to form two ledges (432, 434) for accommodating panes of glass (410, 414), and two cavities (416, 422) separated by a trench 456, between which a third pane of glass 412 is located. The cavities may contain a desiccant material, and can be enclosed by an additional strip 448 that may be perforated (436, 438). The cavities may also be connected to form a larger shared enclosure 618. Gas permeable foam or resilient adhesive 652 may be applied to the trough 656 for assisting retention of the third pane, and the outer ledges may be coated with an adhesive material 440 to adhere the panes of glass. |
