The method involves determining preset angular orientation of wheels (thetap) from a set speed of yaw rate of an aircraft (1). A minor loop is implemented for inputting the set speed of yaw rate and generating an orientation order to guide a lower part (3) of an auxiliary landing gear (2) of the aircraft at orientation angle (thetac) equal to sum of preset angular orientation and a deducted angle (thetaz), which is determined by taking into account of error between a desired yaw rate (phic) and the measured yaw rate (phim) when the lower part is oriented at the orientation angle.
