PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas flow controller for arc welding capable of reducing a rush current of shield gas generated when starting the welding, in gas shielding arc welding. SOLUTION: The gas flow controller 6 is provided in the vicinity of a gas valve 51 of an arc welding device. The gas flow controller 6 includes a through hole 61a in its axial center part, and a rod part 63a is inserted therein coaxially with the through hole 61a. An annular gas flow passage 70 is formed in a micro clearance between an inner face of the through hole 61a and an outer face of the rod part 63a, and the rush current is reduced when starting the welding, by a pressure loss at the time when the shield gas passes the annular gas flow passage 70.
