According to the present invention, with regard to a lithium secondary battery comprising a cathode, an anode, a separator interposed between the cathode and the anode and a non-aqueous electrolyte, the cathode comprises a cathode active material which is a manganese-rich metal oxide and the non-aqueous electrolyte comprises an organic solvent, an electrolyte salt and an additive, wherein the additive comprises a compound including BF_4^- as an anion and a compound including a non-shared electron pair. According to the present invention, the lithium secondary battery which prevents the deterioration of battery power can be manufactured by reducing the dissolution rate of manganese. Furthermore, the manufacturing costs of the lithium secondary battery can be reduced by using, as the cathode active material, an excessive amount of manganese that is inexpensive in comparison with cobalt or nickel. Also, the deterioration of battery performance can be reduced by inhibiting the decomposition of LiPF_6 that can be included as the electrolyte salt. |
