<p>A skirt 20 is provided for securing to a crash bar 16, typically a steel beam, on an underside (12, Figure 1) of a tractor (10, Figure 1) of an articulated lorry. Skirt 20 projects generally downwardly from a rear surface 18 of crash bar 16. Skirt 20 is typically rectangular and may be 2200 mm wide and 150 mm high. Preferably, skirt 20 comprises a plurality of apertures 24, 26, which may be in two spaced lines of apertures, and can be secured to crash bar 16 using cable ties 22. Skirt 20 may comprise a flexible material such as plastic or rubber, and may bend on contact with obstacles. Skirt 20 may be rapidly and reversibly retrofitted to a tractor to provide an air dam without modifying crash bar 16, use of special tools or interfering with any weld protrusion 36 of crash bar 16.</p> |
