PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a torque converter, whose axial length is suppressed, and in which a plurality of stators is disposed. SOLUTION: A stator 16 of the torque converter 10 is constituted from a first stator 17 and a second stator juxtaposed in a rotary axis line O direction. A clutch hub plate 41 attached movably only in the rotary axis line O direction on an inner circumferential surface of the first hub 17d of the first stator 17 and a clutch disc 42 attached movably only in the rotary axis line O direction on an outer circumferential surface of a second hub 18d of the second stator 18 are alternately arranged in the rotary axis line direction O to be constituted, and a first one-way clutch 40 is provided which permits rotation of the first stator 17 only in one direction with respect to the second stator 18. Further, a second one-way clutch 50 is provided which is arranged between the inner circumferential surface of the second hub 18d and a fixed shaft 31 fixed to the radial inside than the second stator 18, and permits rotation of the second stator 18 in only one direction with respect to the fixed shaft 31.
