PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an operation start determining method for a valve, capable of accurately determining an operation start point of a valve. SOLUTION: An operation start determining method for a valve, for determining an operation starting point of the valve in a pressure unit, includes the steps of: filling the pressure unit with a pressure source; applying an electric current to the valve of the pressure unit; measuring pressure inside the pressure unit; calculating a first pressure change amount and a second pressure change amount per first unit time on the basis of the measured pressure; calculating a difference between the first pressure change amount and the second pressure change amount; and determining whether the difference between the first pressure change amount and the second pressure change amount is a threshold or more, or not.
