The invention provides a filter manufacturing device (11) comprising a tow bale (12) of folded bands of tow (13); a transport jetter (46) for feeding tow (13) drawn out from the tow bale (12) to a molding section together with air; a cutter (25) for splitting the tow (13) in a medial section along the widthwise direction (W) of the tow (13) and forming half-width tow (13A) having half the width of the tow (13), the cutter (25) being provided at a location between the tow bale (12) and the transport jetter (46); and the molding section for molding the half-width tow (13A) into a cylindrical shape. |
