<p>The present invention relates to a method for runtime synchronization for hardware-software co-simulation of a real-time system, the method comprises the steps of: (a) allowing a processor to store a state of a software part in each checkpoint while being executed as much time as predetermined Wopt, wherein hardware uses a simulator and software uses the actual processor; (b) allowing the processor to stop when the processor sends an event to a hardware simulator while the processor executes step (a), to transmit the event to the hardware simulator when the processor stops, and to wait for a message from the hardware simulator; and (c) allowing the hardware simulator to be executed while the processor is being executed as in step (a), to stop when the hardware simulator sends an event to the processor while the hardware simulator is being executed, to stop after being executed as much time as the processor is being actually executed when the processor is rolled back to a checkpoint before a timestamp of the message sent to the processor, or it is not needed that the hardware simulator sends an event to the processor while the hardware simulator is being executed, to determine a new Wopt value such that the processor can be executed as much time as the new Wopt value to repeat the above steps from step (a).</p> |
