PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for applying a proper amount of a highly viscous fluid on an accurate position of a workpiece in which a flange is stood from a peripheral part without generating a coating defect. SOLUTION: The apparatus 10 for applying a highly viscous fluid is used for applying an adhesive 11 on the surface of a workpiece body 3 of a panel-shaped workpiece 1 in which the flange 2 is stood from a peripheral part, and includes: a nozzle 12 for discharging the adhesive 11 toward a prescribed position of the workpiece body 3; and a disc-like guide unit 14 having an insertion hole 13 supportable for the nozzle 12 by inserting therein and relatively rotatable with respect to the nozzle 12 in a state inserted into the hole 13. The rotating axis L1 of the guide unit 14 tilts at a prescribed angle with respect to the central axis L2 of the insertion hole 13, and in such a state that the nozzle 12 is arranged substantially perpendicular to the surface (internal surface 3a) of the workpiece body 3, the outer peripheral face of a guide roller 16 can contact a corner 4 between the flange 2 and the workpiece body 3.
