PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multilayer capacitor in which an equivalent series resistance is finely adjusted at a desired value. SOLUTION: The multilayer capacitor 1 includes: terminal electrodes 3, 4; first and second external connection conductors 5-8; a first ESR control section 10 connected to the terminal electrodes 3, 4 and the first external connection conductors 5, 6; a capacitance section 30 connected to the second external connection conductors 7, 8; and a second ESR control section 20 connected to the first external connection conductors 5, 6 to which the first ESR control section 10 is connected, and to the second external connection conductors 7, 8 to which the capacitance section 30 is connected. In the multilayer capacitor 1 having the configuration, at least either the number and positions of laminates of the second ESR control section 20 is changed, thereby adjusting the ESR at a desired value.
