<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect a motion vector of which a code amount becomes smaller after being entropy-coded. <P>SOLUTION: A motion vector detecting device comprises: a first calculating section for calculating a mean value of a pixel value for each first block, into which a block to be processed is divided, and a mean value of a pixel value for each second block having the same size as that of the first block in a reference image; a second calculating section for calculating a mean value of a pixel value in a block to be detected based on the mean value of the first block and a mean value of a pixel value in a block to be referred corresponding to the block to be detected based on the mean value of the second block; a third calculating section for calculating an evaluation value of a motion vector based on a difference between each pixel value obtained by subtracting the mean value of the first block from each pixel value of the block to be detected and each pixel value obtained by subtracting the mean value of the second block from each pixel value of the block to be referred and a difference between the mean value of the block to be detected and the mean value of the block to be referred; and a selecting section for selecting the motion vector based on the evaluation value. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
