PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a guard cable capable of preventing a vehicle from jumping out, by laying a plurality of cables at vertical intervals among posts erected at regular intervals in an extension direction of a road. SOLUTION: In a post 3, slits 6 are provided on lateral surfaces facing each other in an extension direction of a road. A plurality of cables 2 are laid through the slits 6 among the posts 3. A material 7 for maintaining an interval between the cables, which is insertably/extractably fitted into a hollow portion of the post 3, is provided with a loose fitting portion 73 which is equipped with an anti-coming-off portion and which loosely surrounds the cables 2. The cable 2 is loosely fitted into the loose fitting portion 73 so that the cable 2 cannot come off from the anti-coming-off portion against the inclination of the post 3. A supporting member 10 with a cable retainer portion 12 for supporting the lowermost cable 2a is insertably/extractably fitted in and connected below the lowermost material 7a for maintaining the interval between the cables.
