The present invention relates to an apparatus for receiving a probability density image and extracting center points from the image, which can comprise: a label table updating unit which stores data of a label table, which is changed while allocating label numbers to the inputted probability density image, on a write-only memory, and copies the data to a read-only memory, such that the data is referred to when a next label number is allocated; a segment information updating unit which stores information on segments of the probability density image on a segment information storage memory and updates the segment information; and a segment information completing unit which completes full segment information by referring to the updated segment information and the updated label table.
