The present invention relates to a method and a system for providing an interest key word for a user of a mobile terminal. The present invention provides a method for providing an interest keyword which is performed by a mobile terminal and a key word server, the method including the steps of: detecting a call of a user interface configured to insert an interest key word, performed by the user terminal; determining an interest key word to be provided to the user interface by the key word server; displaying the determined interest key word by providing the determined interest key word to the user interface by the user terminal; and extracting an advertisement corresponding to the interest key word when the key word server receives a searching request for the interest key word selected by the user terminal, transferring the advertisement to the user terminal as a searching result, and charging an advertiser of the advertisement an advertisement fee when the advertisement is exposed to the user terminal. Accordingly, a terminal user provides an interest keyword to one side of a display, so that a user can search for related information without directly inputting any key words.
