1. A method for obtaining a size measurement of a person to be fitted for a garment, comprising:
providing a plurality of photographs from a camera of a portable electronic device, wherein each of the plurality of photographs includes photographic data of a particular body part of a user, the plurality of photographs providing images of the particular body part from a plurality of different aspects and wherein at least a portion of the photographs include image data of a feature of known dimension; generating a 3-dimensional or contoured computer model of at least a portion of the particular body part by applying a feature extraction technique to the photographic data; identifying the feature of known dimension in the photographic data and using the known dimension of the feature to calculate an actual size of the portion of the particular body part in the computer model; and using the calculated actual size of the particular body part to generate a fitting measurement for a garment. |
