Disclosed are an electrode assembly which can prevent that heating occurs at the center of the wound electrode assembly during the high-rate discharge, and a secondary battery including the same. According to the present invention, as an electrode assembly for a secondary battery, the electrode assembly comprises: a positive electrode plate where a positive electrode tab is attached; a negative electrode plate where a negative electrode tab is attached; and a separator interposed between the positive electrode plate and the negative electrode plate, wherein the negative electrode plate is attached on a point where a ratio between the distance from the negative electrode tab to the wound center of the negative electrode plate and the distance from the negative electrode tab to the wound terminal of the negative electrode plate is 1:0.5 to 1:3. |
