The sound damping construction panel comprises opposite main surfaces, and a plurality of cavities on at least one of said main surfaces of said panel, said plurality of cavities being spaced apart and positioned entirely throughout the main surface(s). A first set of the cavities has first sectional dimensions. A second set of the cavities has second sectional dimensions, a ratio between the first sectional dimensions and the second sectional dimensions ranging from 1.57 and 12.5.
