PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a glass molding by using pressure molding based upon a direct press method, which can suppress variance in quality, and also easily and securely finish the surface of the glass molding in a mirror-surface or substantially mirror-surface state without performing polishing processing.SOLUTION: A method for manufacturing a glass molding includes the steps of: arranging a first metal mold 31 and a second metal mold 32 so as to face each other along a horizontal direction; supplying a molten glass gob 51 so as to fall between the first metal mold 31 and second metal mold 32; bringing the molten glass gob 51 into contact with a mold face 31a of the first metal mold 31 by moving the first metal mold 31 toward the second metal mold 32, and wetting the mold face 31a of the first metal mold 31 with the spread molten glass gob 51 by the contacting shock; and bringing a mold face 32a of the second metal mold 32 into contact with the spread molten glass gob 31 to perform pressure molding of the molten glass gob 51 by using the first metal mold 31 and second metal mold 32. |
