PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for production of a coil with leader strip capable of reducing the production cost of a steel strip produced through reversing rolling.SOLUTION: A method for production of a coil with leader strip includes the processes of: conveying the steel strips in a pickling line so that a second steel strip which is not a rolling object in reversing rolling lines up to the top side and/or tail end side of a first steel strip being the rolling object in the above rolling to decide a conveyance order; connecting the second steel strip to the top side and/or tail end side of the first steel strip; applying a pickling treatment to the first and second steel strips after the connection process without rolling up both strips; cutting a part of the second strip connected to the first strip after the pickling process to define a part of the second strip connected to the first strip as a leader strip; and rolling up the first strip connected to the leader strip.
