PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lithium ion secondary battery arranged to be able to deliver an excellent preservation characteristic even if the battery has a negative electrode active material which expands and shrinks as lithium is occluded and released.SOLUTION: A negative electrode for a lithium ion secondary battery comprises: a current collector main body; a coat layer arranged on the surface of the current collector main body; and a negative electrode active material layer arranged on the surface of the coat layer and including a negative electrode active material. The coat layer includes a coat layer binder, and a conductive material. Supposing that the whole coat layer is 100 mass%, the content of the coat layer binder is from more than 40 mass% up to 99 mass%. The negative electrode active material includes at least one kind of material selected from a group consisting of silicon, a silicon compound, tin and a tin compound. |
