PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide water treatment equipment capable of efficiently treating liquid to be treated which contains oil droplets having various particle sizes and turbidity with a saved space and to provide a water treatment method using the water treatment equipment.SOLUTION: Water treatment equipment is provided with a cylindrical main body installed in the substantially vertical direction, cleans liquid to be treated supplied from the upper side with a plurality of treatment layers arranged in the main body and discharges treated liquid from the lower side. The water treatment equipment includes, in order from an upstream side, a first treatment layer which encloses a plurality of first particles, a first partition plate which prevents the falling of the first particles, a second treatment layer which encloses a plurality of second particles of which average diameter is smaller than that of the first particles and a second partition plate which prevents the falling of the second particles, in a steady state, a space part being provided on the upper side of the second treatment layer. A third treatment layer which is arranged on the lower side of the second partition plate and encloses adsorbent for adsorbing oil is further preferably provided. It is preferable that an average diameter of the first particles is in the range of 100 to 500 μm. |
