PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide thermal management means for batteries based on directional thermal control, in a rechargeable metal ion battery.SOLUTION: There is provided a thermally managed Li-ion battery assembly including an anode and a cathode. In the batter, at least one of the anode and the cathode includes a thermocrystal metamaterial structure 50, thereby vibration is positioned in one direction without dissipating heat generated by high-frequency lattice vibrations in all directions, and the heat is concentrated on a heat sink, and thus, the heat can be removed. The thermocrystal metamaterial structure (50) includes Lithium ions (54) of a cobalt oxide crystal lattice (52), and impurities (56) within the cobalt oxide crystal lattice (52). The impurities (56) include an element selected from iron and nickel. |
