PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a program tampering detection system that is remarkably lighter in weight than conventional ones and does not need a special hardware, and a program tampering detection method.SOLUTION: The program tampering detection system is configured to: acquire by an initialization process, a part of a program or data from a memory area where a program or data in other device is stored, and store the acquired program or data into a memory area where verification data is stored; when data randomly selected from storage means of an own device is the program or the data, acquire corresponding verification data from the other device and collate the data with the verification data; and when the selected data is the verification data, acquire a corresponding program or data from the other device, collate the selected data with the corresponding program or data and detect program tampering. |
