<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic recording/reproducing apparatus that includes a microwave power generator capable of writing a data signal to a magnetic recording medium having a large coercive force at high density, a microwave magnetic field generating element, and includes a thin film magnetic head.SOLUTION: The magnetic recording/reproducing apparatus comprises: a magnetic recording medium; write magnetic field generating means; a microwave power generator generating a magnetic field for resonating a microwave band having a ferromagnetic resonance frequency FR of a magnetic recording layer and a frequency near the frequency FR; and a microwave magnetic field generating element. A signal from the microwave power generator differentially propagates on a microwave transmission path. A magnetic field is applied to the recording medium at the same time as a write signal to perform write and erase operations of the magnetic recording. Ground potentials of the microwave generator and the microwave transmission path are isolated near the FR.</p> |
