The present invention relates to a method for manufacturing precursor fiber for carbon fiber. More particularly, the present invention relates to a method for manufacturing fiber for carbon fiber precursors, wherein the number of filaments of a fiber bundle, which is composed of acrylonitrile-based polymers containing 95 wt% or greater of acrylonitrile, is 48K or greater, and the fiber for carbon fiber precursors goes through a process of adjusting the density of yarn before entering a water washing bath. The manufacturing method according to the present invention prevents the bonding of precursor fiber filaments by adjusting the yarn density of the precursor fiber for large-tow carbon fiber (48-60K) to facilitate desolvation inside tows, and solves the problem of deteriorating carbon fiber properties by preventing contact between end yarns in a flame retardant treatment process. Also, the properties of composite materials are improved by increasing the uniformity of the density of yarn via a process of adjusting the density of yarn to prevent defects (gaps) generated in a composite material process. |
