PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic device and a control method therefor capable of notifying a user of an acceptable method of operation by means different from display and speech.SOLUTION: Provided is an electronic device 100 having an input device, such as a touch panel, for detecting contact of an object, and performing an operation corresponding to a pattern of the detected contact input, wherein a contact generation unit 113 for generating a stimulus detectable by an object (e.g., a finger) through a portion in contact with the input device is provided. A CPU 101 controls the contact generation unit 113 so that a stimulus corresponding to a pattern of contact input acceptable by the electronic device 100 is generated. |
