<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for designing a permeable wall for purifying groundwater, in which the required amount of an absorbent to be used in the permeable wall for purifying groundwater can be calculated precisely.SOLUTION: The method for designing the permeable wall for purifying groundwater, in which the required amount of the absorbent to be used in the permeable wall for purifying groundwater, that includes the absorbent and is used for purifying the contaminated groundwater, is calculated, comprises the steps of: calculating parameters of an adsorption isotherm from equilibrium adsorption tests using a batch-wise vessel-type reactor; and calculating the required amount of the adsorbent on the basis of the calculated parameters or the steps of: calculating an overall volumetric mass transfer coefficient from batch-wise adsorption rate tests; and calculating the required amount of the adsorbent on the basis of the calculated overall volumetric mass transfer coefficient and the calculated parameters.</p> |
