PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic electroluminescent element having high current efficiency and to provide a binuclear metal complex compound using the same.SOLUTION: There are provided a binuclear metal complex compound having a silyl group or a germyl group and an organic electroluminescent element containing the same. There is provided a method of producing a binuclear metal complex compound having a silyl group or a germyl group, which comprises: a step of reacting a pyridine compound having a silyl group or a germyl group and a metal halide to produce a halogenated binuclear metal complex compound; and a step of reacting the halogenated binuclear metal complex compound and a biimidazole compound. The problem of the present invention is solved by the halogenated binuclear metal complex compound having a silyl group or a germyl group.
