PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink jet head adjustment method which allows an ink jet head to be automatically adjusted after a head module is replaced.SOLUTION: In adjustment after head module replacement in an ink jet head (56) where a plurality of head modules (200) are arranged in an X direction, an amount of relative displacement of the respective head modules in a Y direction after the replacement is measured, a readjusted value of a droplet impact timing of the replaced head module is calculated on the basis of the measured amount of displacement in the second direction, a correction value, which is a correction value of a droplet impact timing of a non-replaced head module except a head module used as a reference of &Dgr;Yadjustment, is calculated, the adjusted value of the droplet impact timing of the replaced head module, and the correction value of the non-replaced head module or the corrected adjusted value of the droplet impact timing are stored, and adjustment after the head module replacement is automatically performed. |
