Various embodiments of the present invention relate to the present invention which relates to a method and apparatus for a user interface regarding a method for checking queries for searching a desired scene from multimedia content, such as video, based on information, and query results thereof. A method for searching content includes: receiving an input of a query for searching information on content through a user interface; detecting partial information on at least one of the content corresponding to the query as query results, using a description associated with the content; determining positions where the query results are displayed, based on a reproduction section corresponding to each of the partial information on at least one of the content; determining the sizes of scene markers corresponding to the query results or the size of an area where the query results are to be displayed, considering at least one of the length of the partial information of the content and a relative distance between the query results; and partially displaying the at least one query result, based on the determined positions of the query results and the related size thereof.
