PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a walking type work machine which suppresses an influence of sink marks that may appear on a surface of a cover to prevent the deterioration of the appearance.SOLUTION: A walking type work machine includes: a top cover 81 which is attachable to a side of an engine mounted on a travelling machine body; and an engagement member 95 which is provided on the top cover 81 and can engage relative to an engaged member 108 on the side of the engine. On a side of an underside surface 88 of the top cover 81, a separation part 97 which is separated from the underside surface 88 of the top cover 81 by a gap S and where the engagement member 95 is attached, a first linear joining part 98 which is continuously provided on one end of the separation part 97 and is joined to the underside surface 88 of the top cover 81, and a second linear joining part 99 which is continuously provided on the other end of the separation part 97 and is joined to a point different from the point where the first joining part 98 is joined on the underside surface 88 of the top cover 81 are provided. |
