PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a component for an intraocular lens insertion instrument to insert an intraocular lens into an eye, which conforms to Attached Table 325 Basic Requirement Compatibility Checklist (Single-Use Intraocular Lens Insertion Criteria) for Medical Equipment (2005 Notice 112 by the Ministry of Health, Labour, and Welfare) provided and specified by the Minister of Health, Labour, and Welfare, and is made of a resin material with an excellent balance among rigidity, impact resistance, and resin fluidity.SOLUTION: There is provided a component for an intraocular lens insertion instrument made of a propylene-based resin material which is a propylene-based copolymer with a 0.1 to 20 wt.% content of comonomer selected from propylene homopolymer or ethylene and α-olefin having 4 to 20 carbon atoms, and which has a weight average molecular weight (Mw) of 100,000 to 500,000, a tensile modulus of 700 to 2,300 MPa, and a melting peak temperature (Tm) of 110 to 170°C. |
