<p>The present invention relates to a water meter and, more particularly, to a water meter having backflow prevention and noise reduction functions. The present invention includes a main body including an inflow pipe for water supply from one side and a discharge pipe for water discharge to the other side; an installation pipe formed to communicate with an upper portion of the discharge pipe; and a cap rotatably connected to the installation pipe and opening and closing an inlet of the discharge pipe to prevent water backflow from the discharge pipe to the main body. The installation pipe includes a rotation center section to which the cap is rotatably connected. The rotation center section includes a middle cover including a protruding portion formed at a position more apart in the inflow pipe direction than a vertical extension line of the discharge pipe inlet and generates a moment from the weight of the cap in the discharge pipe inlet direction when the water backflow is blocked with the cap in close contact with the inlet of the discharge pipe so that the cap is in closer contact with the inlet of the discharge pipe and protruding to a lower side. The protruding portion is formed of a plastic material or an elastic material so that the cap is brought into contact with the protruding portion first before being brought into contact with an inner side surface of the discharge pipe during the water supply and noise from a cap and discharge pipe collision is prevented.</p> |
