PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic commerce system capable of preventing an opportunity of buying or selling a commodity from being missed.SOLUTION: Provided is an electronic commerce system which, in order to negotiate for sale or purchase of a commodity via a network, comprises a market platform device for processing commercial transaction management and a sensor device attached to the commodity to be negotiated for sale or purchase, the electronic commerce system being provided with: means for specifying a commodity state on the basis of collection information and commodity information stored in a commodity information database; value calculation means for calculating a value of the commodity in the specified state by referring to a value information database; means for determining whether to make a bid or put on exhibition from one or both of information about the specified commodity state and information about the calculated commodity value; means for collecting the collection information needed for specifying the commodity state; and means for transmitting the collected collection information to the market platform device.
