PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel cell system capable of preventing the S/C from becoming excessive in a fuel cell, while avoiding carbon deposition.SOLUTION: A fuel cell system includes a fuel reformer 44 generating fuel gas by reforming a hydrocarbon-based fuel by using steam, an internal reforming type fuel cell 10 outputting electric energy by electrochemical reaction of fuel gas and oxidant gas, and capable of internally generating fuel gas by reforming the fuel, fuel supply piping 4 for introducing fuel to the fuel reformer 44, water supply piping 5 for supplying steam to the fuel reformer 44, a water pump 52 provided in the water supply piping 5 and adjusting steam supply to the fuel reformer 44 so that the molar ratio of steam to carbon in the fuel supplied to the fuel reformer 44 is a predetermined reference value less likely to cause carbon deposition or more, and bypass piping 6 for introducing fuel directly to the fuel cell 10 without going through the fuel reformer 44. |
