PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control device and a control method for a gas turbine combustor capable of performing a stable operation with high reliability while keeping flame stability and suppressing sudden rise in combustion temperature, even when an amount of heat generation of a fuel gas suddenly changes.SOLUTION: A control device for a gas turbine combustor in which one of fuel gases of at least two different fuel properties is supplied from a fuel supply source and which has no heat generation amount measurement means includes: fuel flow rate adjustment means for adjusting a flow rate of the fuel gas; operation state determination means for determining the switching of the fuel property of the fuel gas; fuel gas property database where time change information of the fuel property of the fuel gas is stored, in the case where the switching of the fuel property of the fuel gas occurs in the fuel supply source; and operation signal generation means for controlling the fuel adjustment means by referring to a determination signal from the operation state determination means and the time change information of the fuel property of the fuel gas from the fuel gas property database.
